Stockholm (NordSIP) – Anna Magnusson, previously Chief Active Ownership Officer at AP1, has announced she is joining AP4 as a Corporate Governance Specialist.
Prior to working at AP1, Magnusson was a specialist in corporate governance at Alecta. This followed several senior roles within the Swedish Government Offices for over six years, including being a Director General and Head of Department, responsible for sustainability and corporate governance issues at the department of state-owned enterprises. Magnusson holds a master’s degree in law from Stockholm University. She also sits on the board of Institutionella Ägares Förening (the Institutional Owners Association, IÄF).
“My time at Första AP-fonden turned out shorter than planned, as the recent reform of the AP Fund system brought its operations to a close at the end of 2025. It’s been an intense and rewarding journey, and I’m grateful for the insights and connections along the way,” Magnusson commented on Linkedin on this occasion.
“Now I’m excited to step into my new role at AP4, contributing to and strengthening our work as professional and responsible owners – a cornerstone of a long-term sustainable pension system. My passion for active ownership and value creation remains as strong as ever,” Magnusson added.
The new hire should be seen in the context of the consolidation of the Swedish AP funds, which concluded at the end of last year with AP6 being incorporated into AP2 and the operations and assets of AP1 being transferred to AP3 and AP4. The employees of the now defunct AP funds were not guaranteed a place in the new funds.
